The department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at IISER, Bhopal promotes a high quality interdisciplinary research in various domains of air quality management, biogeochemistry, climate change, crustal deformation, fluvial geomorphology, greenhouses gas modelling, hydrology, natural hazard management, oceanography, petroleum & mineral exploration, and remote sensing & GIS.
The PhD programme also consists of a combination of course work and independent research.
Students with Master’s (M.Sc./M.Tech) degree in Geology / Earth Science / Environmental Sciences / Physics / Chemistry/Mathematics/statistics / Geoinformatics & Remote sensing with a minor in either combinations of Geology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics at the B.Sc is compulsory. Valid GATE/UGC/CSIR/INSPIRE is necessary to apply for a PhD position.
Exceptionally bright BE/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering (GATE qualified) may also apply for a PhD.
