|1||Geological field trip (EES 318 Basic field Geology) by Prof.SK Tandon, Dr. Arundhuti Ghatak, Dr. Jyotirmoy Malik, Dr Ria Mukherjee The field trip mainly focused on identification of topographical features in the field, identification of outcrops and rock units, study of hand samples in the field, documentation of outcrops, understanding and summarizing the sequence of events and inference of geological history.
<< JABALPUR >>
DAY 1: Lameta Ghat- Several exercises like topographical map orientation, pacing, reconnaissance map making using attitude of the outcrops were done
DAY 2: Madan Mahal and Mahakoshal groups- Identification of intrusion. Ghughra falls- To create a traverse map. Bedaghat-To identify the basaltic dyke intrusion.
DAY 3: Seoni- Identification of the exposure to study the sequences of stratighraphy, Sample collection, Attitude measurements
<< MAIHAR >>
DAY 4: Kaimur- Identification of various sedimentary structures at the Kaimur sandstone outcrop. Rewa sandstone and Bhander sandstone outcrops were a similar exercise was done.
DAY 5: A river cutting where an outcrop was identified and attitudes measured. Reliance Mines- The working and process of the mine was explained by experts.

|2||Earth Science Field Trip by Dr. Pritam Nasipuri Brief description: The students visited Bastar Craton, East Dharwar Craton, Godavari Rift and Eastern Ghat Granulite Belt. Primarily igneous and metamorphic rocks like granite, schist, quartzite, granulite, alkali synite, and mafic rocks were observed and studied in the field. Also structural data like dip, strike, fault, fracture was collected which provided insight about the geological conditions of the region.||Jan 15-22, 2018,8th Semester||8,2014 and 2013 batch||Bhadrachalam, Telangana||Click Here for gallery|
|3||Environmental Science Field Trip ( EES 414 Field work in Environmental Sciences)
by Dr. Ashis Biswas and Dr. Ramya Sunder Raman
Day 1: Sewage Water Treatment Plant, Bhopal
Day 2: Wastewater Treatment Plant (Kolar Dam, Bhopal)
The water treatment plants provided a enhanced understanding the role of technological processes in environmental science and activities like evaluating process efficiencies were carried out at both the sites.
Day 3: Upper Lake, Bhopal To study the health of our large water bodies and make field measurements to evaluate parameters like ecotoxicity and anthropogenic contribution in nutrient balance of the lake.
Day 4: Betwa River, Bhojpur, Bhopal To study the river systems and their role in nutrient and pollutant transport and also study the effect of industrial effluents into the river. The lake and river visits were crucial in understanding field sampling designing based on the objectives and questions raised.
Day 5: Air sampling at IISER Bhopal Campus To study the basics of methodology and techniques followed for aerosol sampling and characterisation and identification of the parameters to be evaluated based on the objectives.
